The Bordeaux was clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated. The description as listed by Crye-Leike was accurate. My family enjoyed the home which is conveniently located a short walk, about a block and a half, from the beach and very close to a grocery store and the Silver Sands Mall. The home provides comfortable beds, nice appliances (oven/stove, dishwasher, frig with ice maker, clothswasher/dryer, small TV's in both bedrooms and nice large TV in family room. A covered carport next to the home is convenient and a BBQ grill is provided. Cookware, dishes, silverware and utensils are provided. You will have to bring your own TP, bar soap, shampoo, cooking oil, paper towels, beach towels and trash bags. Overall, we were very pleased and would definetly come back again.
Comfy and convenient! Very quiet area perfect for relaxing. TV in living room has poor reception and house needed to be aired upon arrival. Everything was clean and in good condition. Unforunately, we forgot our prescription medicines when we left. Although we called within a few hours, we had to make numerous calls asking for a followup. They were "not found" by housekeeping. We don't feel that Crye-Leike made it a priority which was a big disappointment. The house and location though are great and we would stay there again.
Perfect size for a single family, pet friendly, great neighborhood, short walk to the beach.
We rented the Bordeaux not as a vacation home but as a place for our entire family to stay during the recent illness and then passing of my mother-in-law. It was a perfect fit for 5 adults and one 3-year old. Although we weren't able to utilize the amenties too much, it was great to be able to get away and use the pool in the evenings with our grand-daughter and we did take a couple of walks on the beach. It was a wonderful getaway. It looked as though the downstairs had been redone fairly recently but I was not impressed with the upstairs. The carpet was very dirty and the walls needed painting; especially in the stairway and upstairs hallway and the bedspreads had seen their better days years ago. The only other thing that was lacking was in some of the kitchen items. The teflon frying pan and dutch kettle were in very poor shape and the frying pan was not big enough to cook for six people. Vacation Home (Bordeaux): No issues minus the view from the back of the house. It overlooked what looks like an old beach house/lot up for sale. This didn't bother me at all. House was well kept, clean, and roomy. House Location: Its located at the very end of Scenic 98 and across from the outlet malls (gulf side). 5 minute walk to the beach was great. Beach Location: It was summer, so a crowded beach was expected. We actually walked down the beach where the public access part was and it was really croded there. Lucked out that we didn't have to deal with all that. Amenities: Didn't use much of the amenities (golf, bfast, etc) that was part of the package. Overall, had a great time and would rent this house again.
I took my Mother who is 91 years old,and my Mother in law who is 85,to the beach for a little gettaway. It was wonderful,we all enjoyed the house we stayed at very much. We will definately stay there again. Thank you for being so helpful during the reservations, etc'. Mrs.Windsor
This cottage is very quaint and nicely decorated. We stayed here for an entire week and found that there were a few things that could make the place a nicer stay. First, the kitchen necessities were very limited - a few bowls, cups, etc. We needed to wash every day. The pots and pans had seen better days and should be replaced since most of the non-stick coating was worn off and actually came off onto the bottom of a pizza one night; that dinner was thrown out! The trash from the previous renter stayed out in front of the house for more than 3 days and had a foul smell. We really wanted to enjoy our front porch (view of the community) but because of that, avoided it. We also understood it to have a better view of the ocean. There is no view of the ocean due to other buildings in front of it. That said, the cottage community is very quaint and the other homes have well-kept exteriors; HOWEVER, the DIRECT view of this home is that of a run down mobile home with cars on blocks! ok,
Enjoyed our stay. Perfect if you have a pet. Just a short walk to the beach. Across the street is the shopping mall. The house is beautifully decorated and clean. Nice quiet area and very close to the beach. Personnel at the office were very friendly and helpful. No waiting around to get your key. Will definitely want to stay here again.
This past summer was the first time myself or my fiance had visited the panhandle and we fell in love with it right away. The house we stayed in, Bourdeaux, was the perfect size for us and our dog, Chuck. It is bigger than our home, so it was so nice having the ablility to stretch our legs, for such an affordable price. The bedrooms were spacious and the living area was very comfortable. Our neighborhood was quiet and pleasant. Also, the customer service and the ammenities package were both top-notch. My fiance took plenty advantage of the free rounds of golf! We will certainly be back!
I rented a pet friendly place because my married daughter had two small dogs. I expected that the house would smell like dogs. The place smelled fresh and everything was as the ad said. From the upstairs balcony you could see the ocean and hear the surf. We enjoyed our week and hope to rent the same one again.
With Hurricane Gustav threatening the New Orleans area and my husband being a New Orleans Firefighter and having to stay back in New Orleans, we had to find a place for myself, our two sons and our 4 month old puppy. The Bordeaux was a lovely home in a great neighborhood, pet friendly and very comforting to us as we waited for the Hurricane to pass. We would definitely stay again, hopefully under better circumstances!
