We loved the location of the Condo and the furnishings were great. But the floors needed to be mopped! We wore shoes anytime we were in the house because the floor felt grimy and after how black our feet got after the first day we were there, we were careful to not go barefoot. (It was like the opposite of having to wear shower shoes). We also saw two huge water-bugs/cockroaches while we were there. All of this was quite a turn off! But we didn't let it ruin our vacation.
It's all about the location, and this location was great. Right on the beach with a walk out from our back door. However we did have a couple of issues. When we arrived the AC did not work. On day one it was rainy so AC was not needed. Day 2 we called the office about getting it repaired and was told since it was raining it will not get fixed until the rain stops. Day 3 we did get a new AC installed but had a problem with the patio doors. One the screen would not open or close, so we left it closed. The second door the lock pulled loose from inside the door frame. The only way to lock the doors was to use a couple of tables from the patio and stick them into the door frame inside the condo. I did call the office about this issue on the 3rd day of our stay, no one came out to repair the door nor did we get a call back. But overall we enjoyed our stay and and great location to the beach. Chair/umbrella guys were terrific.
We spent months looking for the perfect place to stay on the beach in Destin. This one was great. Every morning we would wake up and sit on the porch with the beach right in front of us. The access to the beach was perfect. The kids could run back to the room if they needed something and we didn't have to go with them, all we had to do is turn our heads while we were laying in our chairs relaxing to see that they made it the room untill they walked out of the room back to us. It was perfect. The place was nice and clean. My only grip was that the access to the beach for our units was next to the master bedroom and if someone was careless and let the iron gate slam shut we heard it.
PROS: This is a wonderful vacation rental that sits right on the beach. The view of the beach is awesome and it is great to be able to sit and listen to the ocean at night. The staff at Crye Lieke was so helpful and friendly. We did have a problem with the AC after hours and they were right on top of things. We had a repair man there within an hour and he had the AC fixed in no time. CONS: This Condo could have been cleaner. We had cobwebs in the corners and there was dirt under the edges of the kitchen cabinets. Also, we had to wear shoes because walking on the tile floors resulted in dirty bare feet. Also, the kitchen was lacking in some of the essentials such as a measuring cup, mixing bowls and spoons, which only matters if you plan on doing any cooking. Still, overall we were very pleased and had a very good vacation and we would definitely consider renting this condo again on our next visit to Destin.
THIS WAS OUR SECOND TIME TO STAY -- IT IS REALLY NICE AND SO VERY CLOSE TO THE BEACH. ESPECIALLY GREAT IF YOU HAVE KIDS AND HAVE TO CARRY THINGS BACK AND FORTH OFTEN. ALSO THE INDOOR POOL IS GREAT IF YOU OR THE KIDS GET SUNBURNED YOU STILL HAVE THE POOL FOR ENTERTAINMENT. THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT I CAN EVEN THINK OF IS THAT THE AREA IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM HAD A REALLY BAD SMELL AS IF SOMEONE HAD LEFT CLOTHES IN THE FLOOR AND THEY MILDEWED. HAD TO SPRAY THE CONDO ALOT W/AIR FRESH TO DEAL WITH THE SMELL. BUT OTHER THAN THAT EVERYTHING WAS GREAT INCLUDING BEACH BOY AND HIS BROTHER. THEY WERE VERY NICE AND FUNNY. VIEW FROM PATIO ALLOWS YOU TO SIT UP ENOUGH TO ENJOY THE OCEAN VIEW WITHOUT TAKING STAIRS OR ELEVATOR TO ENJOY!! WILL STAY AGAIN!!!
I had a great time at the Crystal Villas. Chad really helped us out with planning our wedding. My now husband and I got married while in Destin and it was all so pleasant. I couldnt have asked for a better wedding or place to stay!
This unit was very clean and nicely decorated. The master carpet could be replaced. Great living and patio furniture. The unit was very spacious and the washer/dryer was a plus! The beach access was as good as it gets. We would stay here again. The pool was the only draw back with it being indoors. If you come for the beach, this is the place to stay!
