At Gulf Winds East we offer a lifestyle for the short term vacationer. Landscaped grounds, a pool, full utilities, free parking and on-site management are all part of the package! Each townhome is a spacious 1296 square feet, with two bedrooms and two and a half baths. Outside, the beachside gazebo overlooks the Gulf of Mexico!
Out of the three TV's only one had a remote. The blinds in the master bedroom, the blinds in the dining area, and the blinds by the front door did not close all the way to provide any real security. The walkway on the side of the unit leading to the driveway was flooded with water by the sprinklers daily. The time we stayed there was just ok, I would not stay there again in the future nor would I recommend it to anyone. Upon checkout we informed the desk clerk of our concerns and she was less than sincere. She informed us she would check into it, but acted as if our concerns were no big deal. Unfortunately, we were not 100% satisfied with our stay.

I stayed at the Gulf Winds East and it was not a bad place to stay however we had a couple of issues. The first was a drainage problem in the guest bathtub, and another was about an eight plus hour power outage. However the location was quite nice. We were right in the middle of everything. We were only a mile from the mall. Also we were only a couple miles from the attractions in destin and right across the street from a private beach that was strictly for our resort. We had a few issues but overall it was a nice stay in a nice resort.
Gulf Winds East is not as glossy as some of the other rental properties in Destin, but that makes it all the more comfortable with children. The pool is not right on the road like some others are. The two-story condos are well-equpped with washer/dryer combos. We like to have dinner on the patio. You can leave your beach toys outside the door so you don't bring the sand in the house, and no one bothers them. All in all, our favorite place in Destin.
From beginning to end the experience was amazing. We booked online, called and talked to an agent (super nice and knowledgable), we arrived at night, our keys and everything we needed was in a drop box- it was great! The condo was fabulous- clean, well equipped, it made us really feel like we were in our own little house with a pool right out front and the beach accross the street. I would highly recommend this whole complex to stay! It was a great vacation!
We always enjoy our stay at Gulf Winds East. We find the quality and cleanliness very consistent. The new amenities are great also. One of the things we like is being able to cook and not having to eat out every meal as you would if you stayed in a hotel.
