Jolee Island, a park area with pirate-themed playground and nature trails that wind along the bayou, is the perfect place to let the kids explore.
Baytowne Marina, which is the "Home of the Happiest Boaters in the World", is also located within walking distance. Check out the beautiful cruiser yachts and impressive fishing boats or book a sunset dinner cruise on the "Solaris"!
When you stay at Turnberry, you will have access to the community pool which is exclusive to the Turnberry Villas neighborhood.
Ground Floor:
The living room features a vaulted ceiling, two sofas & big screen TV. The adjacent dining room seats 8 people. The kitchen offers a white appliances and a wrap-around breakfast bar with seating for 4. There is also a half-bath. The master bedroom (with king size bed) and master bathroom are conveniently located on the ground floor as well.
Second Floor:
The second bedroom, with its rich burgundy bedding and chinese calligraphy paintings, is asian-inspired and offers 2 twin beds. The third bedroom offers a queen bed. Each bedroom on the second floor is paired with its own bathroom.
I had to rent a room from Sandestin to have use of the beach and facilities. I wish that had been made clear to me. Everyone I worked with was lovely!
My family truly enjoyed the Turnberry unit -- it was very spacious and very nicely appointed. We will definitely be back next year!!
This is truly a delightful place to stay. All of the comforts of home was available. My husband loved the house so much, he didn't leave the whole three days that we were there. The kids enjoyed the bedrooms and really had a ball. The only one set-back was that the two upstairs bedrooms only had VCRs. The kids weren't able to watch DVD movies at night but they found the disney channel and cartoon network to watch. Overall, I would give the stay five stars and request it when staying in Destin again.
Keeping it simple, the Turnberry was awesome. Everyone in our group cannot wait to go back. Clean, large townhouse and very convenient. The fresh cut flowers in the vase was a great touch. 10 out of a possible 10.
The house was very nice. Unfortunately, we had a terrible time getting into it. We had to arrive about midnight, and had called ahead -= they said they would leave a key out but did not. When we called the emergency number, no one answered. We finally got ahold of someone else who was able to come open the office and give us a key - but it took over an hour at midnight sitting in the parking lot with three kids. Then, they forgot to give us the amenity cards. Not a restful vacation.
