With the accolades of "World's Luckiest Fishing Village" and the home of the largest fishing vessel fleet in the state of Florida, it's no mystery why visitors and seasoned locals flock to the Emerald waters of Destin, FL for their fishing adventures.
A hearty and equally tasty fish, the Red Snapper is a favorite catch in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Charter fishing fleets give visitors the chance to catch their limit for a short season on this fish. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission announced this year's Red Snapper season will begin on June first. Depending on the type of vessel, the closing date of the season has some variation. The season for Private Anglers will end on June 10, 2015. The season for Federal For-Hire Vessels will end on July 14, 2015. The limit is two 16" Red Snapper per person with zero for the captain and crew if fishing on a charter boat.
