Destin Getaways is Making Changes
Destin Getaways has been in the vacation rental and property management business since 2002. Since the beginning Destin Getaways has been constantly evolving to meet market needs, but 2013 kicked it up a notch by introducing several large changes for the company.
In the last year, Destin Getaways has invested in a new website, a mobile app, video tours, a new booking software and listing on HomeAway.com, the biggest booking site in the vacation rental business.
“We listen to our guests, our owners and our staff and we continually evolve our business plan based on their needs” said Destin Getaways’ owner, John Paulsen. “Our guests wanted a more user friendly website, so we updated ours, and since everything has gone mobile we created a mobile app. Our staff wanted a better way to serve both our guests and our owners, so we invested in a program that would stream line our services. Our owners wanted to be even more visible, so we started listing our properties on HomeAway in addition to the sites we were already on.
With all of the upgrades made in the last year, Paulsen and his team are confident that 2014 is going to be their best year to date.
“Our website makes it easy for guests,” said Destin Getaways’ Marketing Director Jennifer Eitzmann. “The site is easy to find, it makes it easy to search for our properties and it makes it easy to book a stay. Guests can even take virtual tours of our vacation properties. Our new app has all of the same features as the website, but takes it a step further. It allows guests to login and receive all of their gate codes, door codes and directions to their vacation rental. The app also lets us send real-time updates regarding a guest’s stay. We feel it gives us an edge since people spend the majority of their time on their tablets and smart phones.”
Destin Getaways Property Manager Courtney Shields touched on the importance of keeping company current in regards to technology.
“Being a mid-sized company that is constantly trying to expand the scope of our business, it’s important that all of our services are streamlined,” said Shields. “That’s what this new booking software does. It lets us keep track of leads, book stays, schedule maintenance and create targeted marketing campaigns all in one place. The new software makes it possible for us to cater to the needs of our guests and our property owners in a much more efficient manner.”
Not everything at Destin Getaways has changed, however. The company still holds the honor of being rated excellent on TripAdvisor. The excellent rating recognizes Destin Getaways for having outstanding properties and providing excellent service based on guest reviews.
“The bottom line is we take pride in the services we offer and we treat the properties on our program like they are our own,” said Paulsen.
