A vacation at the beach can be the most relaxing thing you do all year. While you're packing your bags and getting ready for a sandy stay there are a couple of items you don't want to forget. We compiled a list of must-haves to make your Destin vacation a one for the books.
Sunscreen
This is always a must-have regardless if you don't typically get a sunburn. You will be out in the sun more than usual and sun damage isn't always visible or immediate. According to Prevention magazine, be sure that your sunscreen protects against UVA and UVB rays and is at least SPF 30. Be sure to check that your sunscreen is also reef-safe.
Beach Towels
Vacation rentals or hotels do not typically provide beach towels. Bathing towels are provided, however, they are not allowed outside. Either pack a few large towels for each member of the family or choose to purchase them when you arrive in Destin. Baby Powder
Yes, we said baby powder. It is the best tool for getting that pesky white sand off when you arrive back at your rental. The housekeepers will thank you. Sprinkle some baby powder on your hands, feet, and legs after a day at the beach to remove sand. The baby powder removes access moisture so that the sand can easily come off.
Flip Flops
Get into beach mode with flip flops. They are easy to take on and off when walking across our beautiful beaches. You won't want to leave the beach so you really won't be needing any shoes anyways. And even if you did, you'll see many locals around Destin sporting flip flops as their shoe of choice.
Umbrella and Chairs
Beach service isn't free and can be expensive if your rental does not come with it. You can save a lot of money by purchasing your own umbrella and chairs. Water
