What is Gumbo?
If you've read this much without knowing what Gumbo is... we don't blame you! Live music and beverages always sounds like a good time. Luckily for us, we get to taste Gumbo along with it. Gumbo is a popular stew that originated from a combination of many different cultures. Louisiana loves it so much that they've named it their official state cuisine. It is made of soup stock, meat or shellfish, bell peppers, celery and onion. It is often served over rice (which we recommend). If you're a gumbo first-timer, the Sandestin Gumbo Festival is the perfect place to taste a variety of takes on this popular dish.
