Description

COVID-19 Cleaning Procedures
Due to the pandemic, we have changed our cleaning procedures. As always we are washing all sheets and blankets in between each guest and we are providing antibacterial soap. We are sanitizing and disinfecting all commonly touched surfaces. We highly encourage each guest to bring disinfecting wipes and any other cleaning supplies to ensure their own safety!

Captain B's is a phenomenal brand new three story, seven-bedroom vacation home is wonderfully located in the newest luxury residences of "The Retreat at Miramar"

Relax in luxury with over 4,200 sq ft providing spacious accommodations with two living areas, two laundry rooms, and private patios with comfortable furniture and flat screen The home has been professionally decorated with exquisite decorations and furnishings.
The Pool and Pavilion is over 90 feet long. The Clubhouse offers lots of space for outdoor cooking, relaxing, sun bathing, and watching television. The catch and release fishing pond is great for the kids.The golf cart friendly neighborhood also allows for a quick and convenient golf cart ride to the beach and the biggest Public Beach Access point in our area. Guests will have a blast in the resort style community pool, large grilling area with Green Egg grills and abundant luxury seating located throughout the outdoor areas. There's a LED lit wraparound boardwalk at the lake with a fountain. The beach is a short golf cart ride away and beach restaurants are in abundance along the beach road.

Captains B's Retreat offers a fully stocked kitchen to include a crock pot with an over sized refrigerator and large island.

Other things to note: Starter packs including toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, shampoos, and laundry detergent are provided. Depending on your length of stay, please plan accordingly as you will be required to replenish these items yourself.

The house and grounds were beautiful. The house decor was sophisticated and upscale. The kitchen had all high end appliances and lots of room for all of our guests to comfortably eat and cook. The 2 washer and dryers were a much used resource given the number of people we had in the home. Loved having 4 king sized master suites with very large bathrooms. Kids were very comfortable in their bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. Overall the home was one of the nicer I've rented and very comfortable for a group of 20. The golf cart was great to use for transport to the beach. The house itself was very clean.

The outside grounds were nicely maintained and the outside hangout area included couches, EGG grills and TVs which were great. My largest complaint was the pool. For lack of a better word it was disgusting. Dirty, cloudy, hair balls, etc floating daily. We did not use nor would we allow our children to use the pool. We complained to management however the pool was not clear for the entire 7 days of our stay. Disappointing when you pay a premium to have a pool and it was never clean enough for us to use. I also think the pool should have been larger for the number of homes in the area.

The other issue is location. I've stayed in Miramar many times and this is the farthest I've ever stayed from the beach. It was a good 10+ min walk to the beach and the blocks were not the nicest area of Miramar. Given we couldn't use the pool we visited the beach daily and the travel time back to the house made it inconvenient to walk back / forth throughout the day.

The Captain D’s vacation rental was amazing! Great space for a large group, close to the beach, and tons of amenities. The home was extremely clean and they provided new bath towels and linen due to covid to ensure our comfort. The property management takes care of any issues right away (if any), and they are just a phone call away. Maria was phenomenal and made sure we had anything we needed. The property had plenty of linens, dishes, and seating to accommodate our large group. The golf cart was a huge addition that made going to the beach super easy.
This home is a must stay for your family vacation!!!! We will be returning soon!!

Suggestion:
I wish there were beach chairs and beach towels available for us so we didn’t have to pack or buy new ones.

Overall stay was good. Overall property was very clean! Grills were clean and charcoal was provided, had everything you needed, just bring the meats! Pool is clean, but is small for that many houses. At the time I went, you could hear nail guns all morning long because of new construction. But I'm sure that will go away once the whole community is done. The home we stayed in was sweet! Very modern, up to date and was huge. Fit my party of 17 easily. I'm very satisfied with the property and the home we got to stay in.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful and perfect for a large family! The beds were comfortable- would suggest adding some room darkening curtains in the bedrooms though. The location was great and only a short golf cart ride to the beach. The only thing that could have been better is the cleanliness of the pool. Overall we had an amazing time and would absolutely book here again!
